Specific Data

EDGEBANDING

 We can apply wood veneer, PVC or impregnated paper edge banding on 1, 2, 3 or 4 edges as directed.

COUNTER FRONT PANELS

With a 5'x10' press we can produce counter front or island panels up to 8' and 10' wide and in lengths from 48" down to approximately 31" -- i.e., the grain runs the short way. We can produce counter front sizes in as thin a panel as 3/16".

UNIDIRECTIONAL PLYWOOD

We produce unidirectional plywood in a limited volume for drawer sides, etc. There are several variations, including 5-ply Luan with the grain running the long way in 4'x8' sizes, all subject to special quotations as given in periodic bulletins. We also produce an Oak two-side or Maple two-side, etc, face panel of unidirectional construction with the interior plies in species other than the face specie. We have limited availability of an all-Oak unidirectional panel in 4'x6'.

BENDING PANEL

We can supply a two-ply bending panel for such purposes as Lazy Susans, etc, to meet bending requirements with specific veneers in furniture manufacturing.

SEQUENCE MATCHED PANELS

We produce sequence matched and numbered panels in sliced woods in lengths of 8' to 10', with a relatively low "up charge."

TYPE I GLUE LINE PANELS

With a minimum quantity of 300, we can produce panels using Type I Glue.

Terminology

PANEL SIZES:

4'x5', 4'x6', 4'x7', 4'x8', 4'x10' - Special order - 3' widths

CUT-TO-SIZE:

Kingston has the ability to cut stock panels according to your specified dimensions. Normally, these come from a standard 4'x8' size; however, depending on quantity and type of core (inner-ply involved), other stock sizes, such as 4'x5', 4'x6', 4'x7' and 4'x8' are available.

A-FACE:

Standard book-matched faces, matched for grain.

SELECT FACE:

Matched for color and grain.

UNIFORM FACE:

Uniform in color, not matched for grain, small amount of streaks.

#2 SOUND BACK

Sound Veneer, not matched for grain or color.

#3 BACK:

Any specie, mill option, reject back, open defects (Knot holes - splits).

FIBERBOARD:

Selected for machine-ability and "non-tear out"; 45# MDF.

LUMBER CORE:

Lumber core available using imported core, as well as domestic Aspen Lumbercore and Radiata Pine Lumbercore from Brazil.

PARTICLE BOARD:

Standard Grade 45# Industrial Board.

COUNTER FRONT:

We can produce and sand counter front sizes such as 8'x4', 8'x3', 96"x34-1/2" in most thicknesses from 5/32" to 3/4" with veneer core, MDF or particle board inner ply.

BACK GRADE

Back grade of panel can be same specie as face, sound tropical wood or reject as specified.

1" PLY VC:

Add, subject to volume acceptance.

SHOP GRADE:

Shop grade will be included at 15% off unless otherwise agreed.

V-GROOVED:

For V-grooved, 4-8-4-7-9-6-4-6 pattern, 1/8" groove, add $20/M'.

VENEER EDGEBANDING:

Banding inventoried to edge 5/8" and 3/4" thickness. Real wood, paper and vinyl available in most widths; stocking widths - 7/8" and 1/2"

SOUND GRADE:

For sound grade tropical woods in 1/4" and thinner, sanded to wides, in place of a #3 back (or reject), add $60 per M'.

TOE KICKS:

We have the Pistorius saw to cut toe kicks.

Shipping Policy

MINIMUM SHIPMENT on pooled-truck shipment is 12,000 pounds. If a smaller quantity is ordered, shipment will be made by LTL, at much higher rates. STOP-OVER-CHARGE is charged on pooled-truck shipments, in addition to the regular total trip mileage rates.
